One suggestion -

I live in SF and work in Lafayette. I noticed no Lafayette bars. I’d suggest the Round Up. They have a good beer selection and they are about a third to half mile from the Lafayette BART station (just right down Mt. Diablo). Here’s their Yelp info – http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-round-up-lafayette

Near 24th St BART is also Shotwell’s (http://www.shotwellsbar.com/). Nice selection of local and Belgian beers on tap, and I had a great Scottish ale in the bottle last time I went.

Darn! can’t believe I missed this – great roundup – can’t wait to read through them all. I would have written about Japan – oh well – I will have to remember the frozen tundra that northern Japan was in winter and all the beer that warmed me another time.
