Gordon Biersch (Embarcadero)
Gordon Biersch is a small national chain of brewpubs that make lagers, weizens, bocks, märzens such as Oktoberfest, and other German styles, rather than ales in the English and American traditions followed by most brewpubs. The company was started in the Bay Area.
This location serves some beers made on site and offers a full bar, a restaurant filled with business lunch crowds midday, and a modest showing of sports TVs.
Extras: Historic building and plaza of the original Hills Brothers coffee roasting company with views of the Bay Bridge and Cupid’s Bow. You can also walk to or from 21st Amendment brewpub and enjoy sweeping views.

Map to Gordon Biersch
Walking from BART: We suggest you take the scenic route, down Market Street towards the Ferry Building clock tower, right on Steuart, left on Mission, right on The Embarcadero and then continue until you sight the restaurant and its visible faux tank out front on the corner of Harrison. (The less scenic speed route is along Spear Street past Folsom half a block, then cut left through Hills Brothers Plaza to the sidewalk on The Embarcadero, and you’ll find the entrance to your right.)

Gordon Biersch has an interesting SF Beer Week event, for all the lager lovers in town: Bavarian Beer Breakfast, mercifully scheduled for lunch time. Can’t see it on their own website, so try http://www.sfbeerweek.org/feb13.html for the listing.
