Public House (Montgomery)
The call of “Play Ball” signaled the opening of the Giants 2010 season and San Francisco’s newest beer bar and restaurant located at the Giants ballpark. Occupying the former Acme Chophouse space, Public House offers up craft beers, dozens of big flat screen TVs and a menu of higher end pub dishes — while adjacent companion restaurant Mijita offers a selection of Mexican specialities.
Public House features a dedicated craft beer bar with two brews on cask plus two dozen mostly west coast craft taps and an impressive international bottle list. Across from the beer bar is a standard full bar. Just around the corner, the bar at Mijita features premium tequilas.
Extras: On game days, you can buy a craft beer in the Public House and carry it into the ballpark. Walking the 2nd Street route allows for a stop at 21st Amendment Brewpub. Gordon Biersch is on the way if you take the slightly longer Embarcadero walking route along the Bay, enjoying the view.

Walking from BART: Exit Montgomery BART on the south side of Market Street and go to 2nd Street. Turn down 2nd and walk 8 long blocks to the Giants ballpark. Cross King St. and walk right, along the ballpark to the corner of King and 3rd St. Directly behind the statue of Willie Mays is the entrance to the Public House.
Instead of walking from BART, you could grab the MUNI streetcar to the ballpark (Mission Bay) or back.
