Abbot’s Cellar (16th St SF) New 2012
The Abbot’s Cellar is an elegant 100-seat beer-centric restaurant created by the owners of nearby Monk’s Kettle. They have described it as fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere.

Along with a serious focus on beer and food pairing, Abbot’s offers some unusual treats such as dual cold storage and cellar areas at differing temperatures. They pour select beers by the glass, when you want to go for a taste rather than purchase a large bottle. This gorgeous spot is clearly a restaurant, with very little bar space, so plan on going for a meal when you go there. There are 20 taps, often including some hard to find brews.
Extras: The Mission District now sports several craft beer destinations, so you can either linger here for multiple courses, or skip out for desert — or just some desert beers — somewhere nearby, if you like.
