From the Gala to the Invitational, Festivals are Top of Mind Again

Brewers pouring at Firestone Walker fest

There’s nothing like tasting exciting beers from breweries you know, then stepping along the festival line-up to the jockey box of a brewery you’ve never heard of, hopefully extending your festival glass with a smile and happy anticipation.

We hope you’re enjoying the return of full-on SF Beer Week events. We sure are. As the year progresses, we look forward to seeing a lot of celebrations and festivals bringing together brewers and their beers for us to enjoy in one location.

If you are ready to think ahead about the rest of 2024, after Beer Week wraps up, we would suggest your first choice be the Firestone Walker Invitational Festival in Paso Robles.

Why this one? The Firestone folks invite scores of the best breweries from around the world to pour, while including choice California breweries, too. The ground rules for brewers are simple. They must be widely recognized for the quality of their beers, a brewer and or owner must be present to pour and talk to patrons at the festival and they are asked to bring at least one low-alcohol beer along with any other notable beers they choose.

The FWIBF has become a favorite of both international and American craft brewers. The breweries are there pouring for all of us and strutting their stuff for their fellow brewers, too. There’s not a bad beer to be had! We love tasting wonderful brews from breweries not normally distributed here. A wide selection of local restaurant-catered food is included in the price of the ticket – as is live music all day.

Tickets go on sale at this link this Tuesday 2/13 at 10:00AM

Here’s more info from FW about the fest:

The Invitational sells out every year, often within minutes of the ticket availability. So sharpen your on-line ticket hunting skills, sync your timepiece, limber your fingers and go.

Pro-tip: Reserve your lodging now! Availability goes quickly and prices rise as time passes.

And, of course, SF Beer Week continues with a multitude of choices through Sunday.  Study up!
