Fort Point Valencia (16th St. SF)

As you approach the Fort Point Valencia taproom on this heavily gentrified block of Valencia St., you will not see a sign. Instead, you will find a bright blue neon-lit entryway beckoning to you. Once inside, you will see a long bar on the left and the long and narrow room filled with tables of varying sizes. The bar has no seats, though there is plenty of room  to stand and eat and drink. There is also table service.

The beer offerings, of course, include a wide variety of Fort Point Beer’s portfolio, including beers from its recently acquired Black Sands Brewing. In addition, it features a very interesting guest beer array.

The food can be characterized as “elevated pub food,” featuring dishes made to be consumed by hand (utensils are available upon request).

Extras:  Feel like walking? You can create a Valencia/Mission St. loop trip, north to include Standard Deviant Brewing, Crafty Fox Ale House, Zeitgeist and Monk’s Kettle, or loop southeast  to Shotwell’s or Southern Pacific. Brewing
