Albany Taproom (El Cerrito Plaza)

Albany Taproom is the second craft beer venue to open on a mile-long stretch of San Pablo Ave. near the Albany/El Cerrito border.

They have a long bar and several tables where you can enjoy a beer selected from their list of 32 drafts. They feature a nice mixture of local, regional, national and imports. Following a now familiar model, you can choose a bottle from their coolers to take away or enjoy in-house for a modest corkage fee.

They offer a small menu starting at 3:00. Alternatively, you can order food from the adjoining Grazzy Burgers restaurant. You can also sit in the restaurant and order beer from the Taproom.

There are two TVs and they serve several wines but no spirits.

Extras: If you’d like to work off or work up to your beer, Albany Bowl is on the way. Also, Elevation 66 Brewing is close to the BART station and makes for a good mini-crawl.

Walk out of the BART station, and head left to Fairmount Ave. Turn right and walk 4 blocks to San Pablo Ave. Turn left on San Pablo and walk 6 blocks and find Albany Taproom.
